Really I have not forgotten

I just like everyone else have been totally busy. I think I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

I made my first trip to Scrap Happy Ohio, the day after Christmas and I loved it. Just need to hit the lottery and then I can make weekly trips.....

I have been cleaning up craft space a little and moving things around readying myself for my E2, CAN'T WAIT!

The week of Christmas my son and I were pretty sick so that was hard enough to deal with.

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Holiday and spent time with family and friends.

I am making a trip to Scrapbook Korner in Archbold, Oh today with a friend and hope to get some more goodies, not that I need them, but.

Well I just wanted to let you all know I have not forgotten I still have a blog, I will resolve to update more in the coming year.

Upcoming Classes

I am so excited, I almost don't know how to contain myself. I have been asked by a local store owner to teach some classes for her shoppers.

I CAN"T WAIT!!! I have been considering this for some time now and have been asked by my customers for a very long time. I really would love to open a storefront of my own one day, but at this time it just is not in the cards....

So I wanted to make sure that all my blog readers, customers, and future customers know that I will be posting a schedule within the next couple of weeks.

I will be talking it over with customers and the store owner Lisa to see what will work best, if I could get some feedback from all of you that too would be a wonderful help.

Let me know what type classes you are looking for and we will try and get it on the schedule.

Hope to talk with all of you soon.

P.S. I will also be posting my Silent Saturday pics a little late. I hope to have them up tomorrow. I have been a little busy.

Capri Sun Purse Tutorial

What in the world could you do with those drink pouches after you are done.......

Well instead of throwing them out, how about making a purse or a bag or something more useful.

Materials needed:

Drink Pouches - 9 were used for this purse
Sewing machine
Ribbon for handles
Velcro dot or closure

After emptying your drink pouches, make sure to wash them. I soak mine in dish soap and hot water. After that I will remove and place on towel to dry. Once air dried I will place in between 2 paper towels and run it through my Cuttlebug to flatten. Some others have used a rolling pin to make sure all excess water is removed.

Start with the bottom, depending on how wide you would like your project, will depend on how you complete the bottom. I will give the details for the purse that was made. I am currently working on a messenger bag and hope to show that to you soon.

With sewing machine set on Zig Zag stitch, sew 2 pouches together about midway.

As you can see here, I have stitched both seams.

Stitch together 2 for each side, attach 1 for each end. Before you connect and make it a complete circle you will need to connect bottom.

This will take a little maneuvering to get the edges to all line up.

Once you have completed this, all edges should have stitching and you should now have a purse. Now trim the last pouch around circular design on bottom of pouch. Stitch around entire pouch.

Using the top of the pouch, sew into inside back of purse.

Attach a Velcro dot to the exterior of the purse and to the pouch used as the flap.

Sew ribbon into purse to create 2 handles.

And then..... look how cute it is....

Hope you are able to understand the way I have it written.

I will also be adding a couple more tutorials soon.

New Products

I have been very busy, trying to get more product completed for my upcoming craft shows. But there is always time for custom orders.

A journal for 1 of her grand daughters

Angel wing pillows for another

And the GIANT floor pillow.
I was asked to design and make a cupcake floor pillow and this is what I came up with. This went with the order of the blankets and other fleece tied pillows.

Among all of this I am trying not to cut off my arm. Those who know more about me, know that I had a previous TOS surgery that has not seemed to work.
This causes me to be in a great deal of pain ALL the time and there are times when it is just unbearable.

I am not employed outside the home due to the medications that I am on for all the pain, but I do try to craft as much as possible to keep me somewhat sane.

Not that you needed to know all of this but thought that I would share so some of you would know that is why I am MIA at times.

So now to carry on and show you what else I have been working on.

Besides all of this, I also have completed 9 neck travel pillows and 6 fleece scarfs.

Busy, busy, busy..... and now I must get back to work
